What the benchmark measures
CookieBench measures when a cookie banner becomes visible, the delay it adds to the page, how a click responds, and observed consent behavior. We compare each integration with the same page without a consent manager. Results cover desktop and emulated mobile profiles.
Each metric answers a different question. We publish those answers separately, with intervals and reasons for missing results, rather than combining them into one score. A result applies to the tested version and configuration. It is not a guarantee about every site that uses that consent manager.
Who maintains CookieBench
Inth maintains CookieBench. The company is Consent Management Inc, a Delaware corporation, and the team also builds c15t. c15t is one of the consent managers included in this benchmark, so the maintainer has a commercial interest in one of the products being measured.
The methodology, code and published data let readers inspect how we reached a result. Please read the ownership disclosure and known limitations before using a comparison to choose a consent manager. We welcome corrections backed by a reproducible example or a vendor source.
Use the results with their context
CookieBench publishes comparative information for evaluation. It does not provide legal advice, certify a product's compliance, or inspect the configuration of your own website. Keep the framework, device profile, publication date and methodology version with any result you cite.
People and agents can read the same published information in the website, Markdown pages and JSON API. You do not need an account to read these results. Contact us for questions about the project, a correction, or a privacy request.
