# Osano cookie banner: speed and features on Nuxt

Privacy platform with a hosted consent manager.

- Vendor: Osano
- Website: https://www.osano.com
- Version tested: Hosted
- Framework: Nuxt

We measured other CMPs on Next.js only, so on Nuxt this comparison uses Osano’s other integrations. [Osano on Next.js](https://cookiebench.com/benchmarks/osano.md).

## Desktop

Desktop profile: 1365 × 768 · No CPU slowdown · 12.5 MB/s, no added latency.

In our tests with its Nuxt integration, Osano showed its cookie banner in a median 671 ms on desktop. It delayed the main content by 2 ms. Accept responded in 48 ms and Reject in 24 ms. It held trackers back in 3 of 4 consent checks. We could not confirm the other check.

On an emulated mid-tier phone, the banner took 1.97 s. Per vendor docs, Osano supports IAB TCF, IAB GPP, Google Consent Mode v2, Google CMP certification and Global Privacy Control.

| Question | Answer | How it compares | Context |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| How fast does the banner appear? | 671 ms | 6th fastest of 6 Osano integrations | Median of 14 visits. |
| Does it slow the page down? | +2 ms | 3rd of 6 Osano integrations, from least to most delay | Compared with the same page without a consent manager. There were too few paired visits to calculate an interval. |
| How fast does a click respond? | 48 ms | 6th fastest of 6 Osano integrations | Reject responded in 24 ms. Under 200 ms feels instant. |
| Does it block trackers until consent? | 3 of 4 checks passed. We could not check the other 1 | 5th of 6 Osano integrations by checks passed | We could not confirm 1 of 4 checks either way. |

### Known issues on desktop

- 14 of 15 visits passed, so the run gives no confidence intervals for this cell. Differences are medians only.

## Mobile

Mobile (emulated) profile: 390 × 844, DPR 3 · Mid-tier phone CPU (4× slowdown) · 200 KB/s, 150 ms latency.

In our tests with its Nuxt integration, Osano showed its cookie banner in a median 1.97 s on an emulated mid-tier phone. It delayed the main content by 424 ms (95% interval 416 ms to 440 ms). Accept responded in 112 ms and Reject in 88 ms. It held trackers back in 1 of 4 consent checks. In 2, the accept check failed and the reject check failed.

On desktop, the banner took 671 ms. Per vendor docs, Osano supports IAB TCF, IAB GPP, Google Consent Mode v2, Google CMP certification and Global Privacy Control.

| Question | Answer | How it compares | Context |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| How fast does the banner appear? | 1.97 s | 4th fastest of 6 Osano integrations | Median of 15 visits. |
| Does it slow the page down? | +424 ms (95% interval 416 ms to 440 ms) | Joint 2nd of 6 Osano integrations, from least to most delay | Compared with the same page without a consent manager. |
| How fast does a click respond? | 112 ms | Fastest of 6 Osano integrations | Reject responded in 88 ms. Under 200 ms feels instant. |
| Does it block trackers until consent? | 1 of 4 checks passed. 2 failed: the accept check failed, the reject check failed | Joint 5th of 6 Osano integrations by checks passed | In 2 of 4 checks, the accept check failed and the reject check failed. |

### Known issues on mobile

- Accept and reject closed the banner and consent took effect, but a page control clicked 500 ms later did not respond, so those checks failed.

## Questions about Osano

### How fast is Osano’s cookie banner?

On desktop, it appeared in a median 644 ms, against 471 ms for the median of the 10 CMPs measured. On an emulated mid-tier phone, it appeared in a median 2.15 s, against 2.71 s for the median of the 10 CMPs measured.

### Does Osano slow down the page?

On desktop it added no measurable delay to the main content. On an emulated mid-tier phone it delayed the main content by 424 ms (95% interval 420 ms to 428 ms). Delay is the extra time before the main content appears. We compare Largest Contentful Paint on the same page, with and without a consent manager.

### Does Osano block trackers before consent?

On desktop it passed 4 of 4 checks. On an emulated mid-tier phone it passed 2 of 4 checks. In 2, the accept check failed and the reject check failed. A check fails if a tracker runs, the page sets a cookie or data leaves the page before the visitor chooses.

### Does Osano support IAB TCF and IAB GPP?

Per vendor docs, Osano supports IAB TCF, IAB GPP, Google Consent Mode v2, Google CMP certification and Global Privacy Control. Feature support comes from Osano’s documentation. CookieBench did not test these features itself.
